Winchester Open Studios, November 18

On Saturday, November 18, Winchester will be a mecca for arts lovers—and holiday shoppers—when the first Winchester Open Studios showcases over 40 local artists and creators in nine locations around town. In addition to the artists participating in Open Studios, Winchester's Town Hall will host the "Rise & Shine" Holiday Marketplace with crafts, foods, and other holiday items (10 a.m.–3 p.m., admission charge), and the Parish of the Epiphany will hold its annual Christmas Fair (10 a.m.–4 p.m.). Musicians will be performing at different locations throughout the day.

The event hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Participating Winchester Open Studios locations are:

Winchester Open Studios is supported by a grant from the Winchester Cultural Council and by the Winchester Cultural District.

Winchester celebrates Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month with a special performance on May 18, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. at the Griffin Museum of Photography, featuring Yazhi Guo, called "THE best suona player in Asia", and the ShinDaiko Japanese Taiko Drumming Ensemble. The performance will be outdoors—rain date is May 25.

Notre Dame de Paris: The Restoration

A massive fire in April 2019 devastated the cathedral of Notre Dame, one of the architectural treasures of the world. Michel Picaud, President of the Friends of Notre Dame de Paris, will speak of his organization's efforts to rebuild the cathedral. The talk is presented by the Winchester Jumelage Association with support from the Winchester Cultural Council.

Winchester Porchfest 2021

It's here! Winchester will finally host its first Porchfest on June 12, 2021, from noon to 5 pm. The rain date is Sunday June 13.

Porchfest is a one day, volunteer-driven, free community event that provides public venues for individuals and groups to share their music and performance art. Winchester will host its first Porchfest this coming  June—on Saturday June 13, 2020, from noon to 6 pm. The rain date is Sunday June 14.

Porchfest is a one day, volunteer-driven, free community event that provides public venues for individuals and groups to share their music and performance art. The goal is to cluster venues around downtown to promote a more festive environment, promote walking, and encourage patronage of the downtown businesses. Strawberry Pops 2019

An annual celebration open to all! Come for strawberry shortcake, served at 6:00 p.m., followed at 6:30 p.m. by a concert sponsored by the Winchester High School Department of Music and the Winchester Friends of Music. Event admission is just $5.

Winchester's Master Plan: Act Now!

The Town of Winchester is writing a Master Plan that will guide development and community life for the next 10 years and beyond. The plan will have a big effect on our lives, and represents an exciting opportunity to both solve today's persistent problems and create a more beautiful town for tomorrow. Planning allows us to get the most out of what we do, and identify new things to do that can improve our lives as a community.

The previous Master Plan was written more than 65 years ago, and the lack of guidance for all that time has caused some problems.

Art in Bloom 2019

Come to the 8th annual ART IN BLOOM at the Next Door Theater, 50 Cross Street in Winchester. Art in Bloom is a floral "fun-raising" event that features more than 30 local artists & community designers. It opens with a Gala Grand Reception on Thursday April 4, 2019 at 7:00 pm, featuring music, champagne, and dessert (tickets ​$25, available at BOOKENDS and at the door).
