Grants

The Winchester  Cultural Council has announced the awarding of $22,500 in grants in 2023 for 17 projects by 15 different individuals and organizations. The awards represent the largest total giving by the WCC in its 42-year history. This level of support was made possible by an increase in state funding together with strong support for culture and the arts from the town of Winchester. Grant projects and recipients are listed below.

Come hear the free summer concert series on the Winchester  Common, every Wednesday starting at 6:30 p.m. The concerts are sponsored by the Winchester Cultural Council and well as by individual donations, and are organized by Winchester Recreation.

Winchester's second annual Porchfest is moving ahead with a performance date of June 11, 2022 and a location of all around the town. Performances will be in the afternoon, from noon to 5:30 p.m. Organizers are actively seeking

The performance was originally streamed on February 5, 2022. It was supported by a grant from the Winchester Cultural Council.

The Winchester  Cultural Council has announced the awarding of nearly $12,000 in grants for 2022 to 14 individuals and organizations. The awards represent the largest total giving by the WCC in well over 20 years.

The Winchester Cultural Council announces a new year-round program of small grants ($50 to $300). Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year. Decisions are normally made within four weeks of the application being filed, and funding can be received shortly thereafter. A micro grant could be suitable for a small art project, performance, or speaker, or to help fund an event that takes advantage of a time-sensitive opportunity that arises during the year.

The Massachusetts Cultural Council is offering a special webinar on September 9 for all who are interested in applying for a grant this year. Grant applications will be accepted through October 15, 2021.

It's here! Winchester will finally host its first Porchfest on June 12, 2021, from noon to 5 pm. The rain date is Sunday June 13.

Porchfest is a one day, volunteer-driven, free community event that provides public venues for individuals and groups to share their music and performance art. Originally planned for 2020, Winchester's Porchfest was delayed but not halted by the worldwide pandemic. Performances that can be shared through Porchfest include, among others,

The Winchester Cultural Council has awarded $9,745 in LCC grants to 13 individuals and organizations for 2021. Disruptions due to COVID-19 delayed this year's grant cycle; grant decisions were not finalized until March 1, 2021. Grant funding was again strong thanks in part to a continuing commitment to the arts from the town of Winchester in the 2020–2021 budget. The funded projects celebrate and strengthen our community through culture and the arts.
