Mass. Memories Road Show (MMRS), which is a statewide digital history project that documents people, places and events in Massachusetts history through family photographs and stories. Under the leadership of Road Show staff, our team will organize a public event to scan family and photographs and videotape “the stories behind the photos,” which will be indexed and incorporated into the Open Archives: Digital Collections and available on the Town's online Archives catalog, in the library, and on WinCam.
Our goal is to bring together our community to share personal memories and to get a better understanding of each other, both newcomers and those with deep roots, creating a snapshot of the town and its residents. For examples, go to the MMRS website and click on a town name.
All residents are invited to participate in this inclusive community-wide event. We will work with our partners to bring together a range of ages and a diversity of backgrounds. We estimate 400 at the event with images available to all on the web.
The program is free and open to the public.
