Online Grant Writing Workshop: Wednesday, October 21

Submitted by Council Chair on

The Winchester Cultural Council grants program is continuing this year! Cultural activity is more important than ever in this stressful time, and it appears that our lawmakers will recognize that with grant funding levels similar to last year. The application deadline is November 16. The Cultural Council encourages everyone to consider applying for a grant. While the future is uncertain—many "traditional" projects (such as performances or in-person talks) might not be possible for a while—this could be an ideal time to try something new.

  • Take advantage of our new online connectivity to offer talks, hold virtual gatherings, present an online concert, or create new cultural experiences (not everything should be a teleconference!).
  • Use the present enforced pause to create cultural works that will be shared later, such as visual art, musical compositions, literature, poetry, and theater.
  • Document these turbulent times in words, images, music, and digital media

And think ahead: restrictions on gatherings will eventually end, most likely within a few months. Our grants are for projects at any time during 2021. Let us support your performance or other activity for next year!

Want to learn more? The Cultural Council will present an online open house grant writing workshop this Wednesday, October 21 at 7 pm. Anyone is welcome to join this Zoom meeting (Meeting ID is 899 2593 7125). Feel free to contact us at any time at info@winchesterculturalcouncil.org.
